Jen Maxted is an accomplished professional with a diverse background in user experience design, illustration, and printmaking. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Kansas City Art Institute, she has developed expertise in sustainable art practices while teaching at institutions such as the University of Missouri Kansas City and the Kansas City Art Institute.
Jen transitioned into user experience design, excelling as a Senior User Experience Designer and Principal UX Designer for companies like Banjo Health, Cerner Corporation, Gatherbind, and WellSky. Her work has included designing surgical scheduling systems for healthcare systems in Canada and Sweden, as well as contributing to AI healthcare platforms. Accessibility, usability testing, and intuitive design have been central to her success in UX.
Now based in Portland, Jen works at Flight 64 Studio, where she explores etching and collagraph techniques using recycled materials. With a renewed focus on illustration and animation, she is shifting back toward the creative roots that initially shaped her career. Jen’s unique blend of technical expertise and artistic vision allows her to foster meaningful dialogue and create work that is both impactful and innovative.
